When Steve Marlow joined Delta Panels in 2014, it was just him, the General Manager, a handful of office staff and a small manufacturing shed.
Five years later, Delta’s sales manager leads a team of four, the company employs 45 people and has become a market leader in the panel industry.
Originally from Napier in New Zealand, Steve worked as plasterer for 18 years before moving to Australia 12 years ago and starting work in the panel industry.
“When I joined Delta Panels, we were a small team and we work hard to build up our customer base, improve our customer service and develop products that our customers and the market wanted,” Steve explained.
“Our focus was on getting the right people in the right jobs, and it’s that approach that has helped the business to grow and thrive.”
Steve lives in Brisbane but spends a lot of his time on the road, travelling up to 7,000 kilometres each month.
“I look after customers from Brisbane to North Queensland and across to Darwin,” he said. “Meeting with customers face-to-face and building strong relationships is an important part of my role, and one the best parts too.”
Steve said every Delta staff member is treated like family.
“It’s a family-owned and operated business and that’s reflected in the way they treat their staff, and people choose to stay with the company because of that,” he said.
“It’s a great working environment – it’s family-oriented and offers people flexibility.”
And if you’re going to have a meal with Steve, you can’t go wrong with Balinese.
“I love Balinese food – in fact I love everything about Bali. It’s my favourite holiday destination.”
